How we met

They always tell you about the girl next door...

I'm sure we have all heard the expression 'the girl next door.' For me, that became a very real phrase. I vividly remember seeing Abigayle walk out of her house to greet her brother at his car. I instantly took note of Abby's beauty, but then was quickly discouraged because I was under the impression JT was her boyfriend. I let this go and continued on with my life. I started seeing this girl more and more while I was walking my dog. Come to find out this was completely intentional. Abby started taking note of what time I would get home from work and knew I would walk my dog shortly after returning home. Abby began walking her dog around the same time to try to run into me on our walks. My mom ended up befriending Abby and told me that she had recently moved home from Georgia and was attending Chapman University for Law School and the man who I thought was her boyfriend was actually her brother, JT. This was incredibly interesting for me and I developed a newfound hope. It took me 3 months to get the courage to finally reach out to Abby. I ended up taking my mom's phone one night to figure out how to spell her last name. I messaged her and invited her to go line dancing with my friends and me. She informed me that she was in law school finals and that I would have to wait a few weeks but that she would be interested. Everyone who knows me knows this is extremely unlike me, but I took this as an opportunity to go shopping and put together a care package for her during her final exams. I dropped the package off on her front porch for the icing on the cake. Surely enough, a week later I was invited over to her house and we spent our first date sitting on her couch reading and discussing our shared passion for the law. Little did I know, I had met my wife.
