Travel Note
While you are in town, you'll probably want to experience Iowa City's restaurant scene. These are some of our favorite spots! Pullman Bar & Diner -- This is where we met; fell in love; and now run the culinary program together. Try to be kind to our team while we are taking PTO. Classic American diner-esque sandwiches, fried chicken, steak frites, and a killer brunch. NoDo -- Quick grab and go sandwiches/wraps. Loved by all Iowa City locals, and staffed by your favorite line cook's favorite line cook. We recommend the Salted Toffee cookie as well. Paper Crane -- Ramen shop on the Northside of town run by a very dear previous coworker of ours. Open lunch and dinner; they also have a lounge-y cocktail bar open late night. Annie's Vietnamese Sandwiches -- Exceedingly good Banh Mi--housemade bread -- another grab and go spot, but please help us make sure this spot stays downtown! Wild Culture -- Incredible cocktail program, consistently has liquors that are impossible to find in Iowa. George's Buffet -- All day watering hole serving up no frills draughts, call drinks, and a Very Good Cheeseburger. Gabe's -- We'll see you here after the reception. Maybe wear your dingy-est shoes...
