Huntington Harbor Boat Rentals
We enjoy paddle boarding at Huntington Beach Harbor. It has a few launch spots for kayaking, swimming or paddle boarding and is very peaceful and family/pet friendly.
Seal Beach National Wildlife Refuge
Seal Beach National Wildlife Refuge is a wildlife refuge encompassing 965 acres located in the California costal community of Seal Beach. It is kid-friendly.
Main Street Huntington Beach
Downtown Huntington Beach has lots of restaurants and stores to explore. And is right off of Huntington Beach Pier.
Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve
Bolsa Chica State Ecological Reserve is a natural reserve and public land in Orange County. The reserve is designed by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to protect a coastal wetland and upland, with both migratory and resident threatened endangered species of wildlife and wildflowers. This is good for kids.
Bolsa Chica State Beach
This is another public beach that is nice.
Pacific City
This is a nice shopping center with restaurants and shops. It has a nice view of the ocean.
Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve
This is another reserve that has street parking, is good for kids and is pet friendly.

Balboa Island
Balboa Island offers a variety of activities, including strolling along Marine Avenue, enjoying the shops and restaurants, taking a ferry boat ride to the Balboa Peninsula, visiting the Balboa Island Museum, and indulging in iconic Balboa bars and frozen bananas.
