Boat Information

There are 2 boat options to pick from when traveling "from the mainland, Massachusetts" to Martha's Vineyard: The Steamship Authority: a 45 minute boat ride. This boat departs out of Woods Hole terminal, and depending on which boat you catch the destination varies between Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs. This is the only boat that allows car reservations, which must be booked AS FAR IN ADVANCE AS POSSIBLE! These book up FAST! If you plan to walk-on, you can leave your car at the Palmer Lot or the Thomas Landers Lot (check availability online an hour before arrival!) Walk-on tickets can be purchased moments before you board the boat. The Seastreak: a 55 minute fast ferry from New Bedford to Oak Bluffs. Walk-on only, tickets should be purchased in advance to guarantee availability. Parking lots are located at multiple locations by the terminal.
