Below are some comfortable places we recommend.  As an FYI for those who are wondering, all the places I mentioned have fast wifi, hot showers, A/C and a level of comfort that Westerners are accustomed to.  You will also find some high end houses on Airbnb.  

For rentals we recommend starting with a search on airbnb for 'Ayampe,'  in Manabi, Ecuador.
