Long Island's North Fork is a gold mine for wine tastings, so you won't go wrong with any vineyard you choose. However, Phil introduced us to Lieb Cellars, which has become one of our favorite spots. Make reservations in advance.
Our other favorite spot for tastings, and an absolutely gorgeous locale. Make reservations in advance.
If cider is more your thing, look no further - you'll have plenty to sample at this conveniently located spot!
We make a yearly pilgrimage to this delightful port town, just before the end of the North Fork. Enjoy a walk by the water, or pop in the lovely shops and restaurants. (Our favorite place for food: Crazy Beans, a retro diner for breakfast and lunch.)
Shelter Island has some beautiful hiking - both long and short trails - as well as some lovely beaches. We usually get out there once a summer. It's a quick ferry ride from Greenport.
Do you love goats? In case you haven't heard, so does Elena. Do yourself a favor and pull over to give these adorable goats a pet - AND you can give them milk from a bottle! There are also chickens, cows, pigs...an animal lover's paradise. Farm-fresh (literally) goodies for sale as well.
If you need some retail therapy, these are the best outlets LI has - an extensive and exceptional offering of stores.
