The couple officially met at Greene's Pour House where Matt was working behind the bar. Zach and Andrea having dinner and a drinks and were sat at a VERY popular spot at the bar. Matt, being very shy immediately expressed his interest in Zach to Danyelle who was also working at GPH at the time. To Matt's chagrin, Danyelle spoke to Zach about Matt like we were on a school playground and essentially set us up. Thank you, Danyelle.
Getting to Paris with an engagement ring without your partner noticing sounds easy, it's difficult and nerve wrecking. The second day we were in Paris, I (Matt) had to somehow hide the ring box because it was extruding from my shorts pocket and I didn't want Zach to notice. We bought small water bottles that fit I in my pocket all day, I couldn't find the right time to propose! The Eiffel Tower was too busy, I didn't want to do it in front of people. The sun had already set, I knew I was running out of time. We bought a bottle of wine from a little wine shop with two plastic solo cups and sat by the Canal St. Martin. I was so nervous, but eventually I pulled the box from my pocket and asked him to spend the rest of our lives together. We were cautious to not drop the ring in the river, we spilled a little wine, oops!. We sat and soaked up the love of the moment.
