We're getting married!

~ written from Tiffany's perspective, and approved by Matt ;) ~ We first met in Syria in February 2023. I arrived in Syria, and the first thing I remember is him helping me with my many suitcases - carrying them out of the car and all the way up to the second floor. We were just acquaintances and I soon found out Matt was leaving for Sudan in a just few days, so there wasn't any chance to get to know each other more. We threw a party for him and said goodbye. Fast forward three months to May 2023 and he was suddenly sent back to Syria, and this time to stay for good. Slowly we started to become friends with him taking time out of his day to bring dates and tea to my office. The office girls would always say he was trying to get me to like him, and I denied it every time! However, one day he asked if I would teach him to play guitar. I said yes, why not? We ended up playing guitar for 10 minutes, but talking for three hours. Time flew by! That was the start of many rooftop talks in the evening, sipping Syrian tea, sweating in the desert heat, and gazing out on the sunset. Talking soon became dating, and we continued our relationship through our many adventures in the Middle East (see the gallery!), getting closer day by day. God was slowly bringing us together. Finally, we both decided to move back home in the summer of 2024, knowing God was calling us to take the next step :). Then on October 5th, in a pumpkin patch, he popped the question. And the rest - as they say - is history ;)!
