Covid-19 Update

Unfortunately, due to the current circumstances, we have decided this is not the best time for all of our friends and family to gather. We're saddened but please do something fun and safe on October 23rd! We've decided instead to go on a honeymoon next year. If you would still like to contribute, please check out our registry. We miss and love you all, Matt & Sophia

How We Met

August 2013

It was Cross Country pre-season, Knox College 2013. Matt was --and still is-- undoubtedly the runner between the two. But, Sophia decided to give running a shot. Coach Moreno had planned an awesome “training retreat” for the team in a pretty pocket of Knox-owned land outside of town. There was swimming, camping, bonfires, music, workouts, card games, cooking! Sophia had been eyeing Matt. Matt had been eyeing Sophia but...she was coaches' daughter! Sophia, ever the rebel, decided to hang out and watch Matt and Bobby play cards, making small talk together One night, while the team was cooking dinner, Sophia noticed Matt was cooking! (SCORE) She walked on over and ever-so-smoothly complimented, "You actually know what you're doing, chopping those onions." The rest is history.

A Quarantine Proposal!

It was a cozy, rainy Sunday in May. Truly an ideal time for curling up with coffee, blankets, and a movie. Matt told Sophia she needed to watch 'The Last Samurai', as it was just one amongst the hundreds she had never seen. Although Sophia does love excitement, drama, and festivities, a quiet quarantine proposal was truly perfect. Snuggled in a corner of their couch, rain tapping on the window, the cats and puppy around--Matt pulled her close under his arm and revealed a pretty, velvet box with a beautiful, glistening ring inside. “Should we finally put this on?” Matt proposed. Textbook? No. Did tears well up? Absolutely. “Will you marry me?” He asked. Sophia actually couldn't believe this was finally happening! Nearly 7 years together and the excitement could barely be expressed. After a moment of just nodding, a “Yes!” came out of Sophia’s ridiculous, ear-to-ear smile. No later than 10 minutes after calling Matt’s mom, Uncle Bill showed up in the rain with champagne and a smile! "I was told there was good news!" Truly a beautiful day.
