Funny story actually.... we met at Frontier Harley Davidson (where Matt currently works). I had just gotten a job there. One of the girls took me around to meet all of my new coworkers and I thought everyone seemed really nice and friendly except the Finance guy (Matt). Hahaha! I initially thought he seemed a little quiet and kept to himself at first. But being coworkers we had to work together and communicate so we soon became more comfortable around each other. Eventually we became really good friends. Best friends actually!! And then he kissed me.... BOOM! We moved into an apartment together the following year & we were just having a blast living life together! Literally! So many laughs and adventures! A year after that we began looking into buying a home!
We had been talking about how we eventually wanted to get married and we had actually went engagement ring shopping at one point and of course I had picked out one that I LOVED. I was still thinking the engagement was quite a ways away though. But it was only a few weeks after our ring shopping experience that I got the surprise of a lifetime! It was just a regular day. I got home from work before Matt so I watched some TV. A little while later Matt came home from work. He asked if I wanted to go to the gym to work out (the gym is our happy place, we love to work out together) so of course I said yes. We were getting ready to go to the gym and I thought Matt was acting a little weird but didn’t really think anything of it. So we pulled up to the gym & as i was grabbing my gym gloves and getting out of the truck Matt runs out of the truck & yells “BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR GLOVES!!!” My engagement ring was in my gloves & I flung the ring out. Typical Sara move! I didn’t know what I flung out of my glove until Matt picked up the ring and got down on one knee & asked me to marry him! The rest is history!
Our original plan was to get married in Jamaica which we are still planning on doing on October 3rd. However due to this pandemic and being unsure how long it will last we decided to go ahead and get married in our brand new house that we just moved into. We had our small (and I mean VERY small: my bonus dad was our officiant) wedding ceremony on our back deck. We are SO happy to be married but we can’t wait for our dream beach wedding in Jamaica! When we are back from Jamaica we can’t wait to celebrate at our reception with all of our friends and family who mean the world to us!!
