We've Decided On forever.

We met on the dock of a restaurant in Vallejo, CA. Matt was there enjoying an after work libation while Nicole was hanging out with her great girlfriend, Liz. Luckily, Matt and Liz were old friends and the connection was made. Nicole, Liz and Liz's partner were headed to grab a bite at the neighboring restaurant and asked Matt if he'd like to join. *Of course he would* Nicole called him "sweetpea", Matt made fun of her cocktail choice (LOL!) and the rest was left to fate.

Nicole scored a mean deal on some tickets to Spain and wanted to take Matt for his 31st birthday. They planned an adventurous week touring Barcelona and Girona and Nicole thought she couldn't be topped after this gesture! Their yearly anniversary falls on the day after Matt's birthday but Matt still decided to hatch a plan of his own and stealthily made it all the way from California to Spain. They had carry on bags so imagine what his heart beat measured while going through security with the ring on hand. After only the very first day in Barcelona, Matt knew it was the perfect way to end the most perfect day. As Nicole reentered their hotel room, Matt had their song playing, bent on one knee and said, "Will you please be my best friend for the rest of my life?" Nicole responded with a happy and tearful "YES!" and continued on with "Is this real?!". They enjoyed champagne and cheese in bed and watched the city bustle below them for the rest of the night!
