If you're looking for some of the best shrimp & grits and fried green tomatoes in the South, this is definitely the spot to go, but make sure you make a reservation. They also have quite an interesting history as well. This house was originally known as the "Habersham House" and was built in 1771. An interesting fact about this structure is that it was originally white until the soft native brick began to bleed through the plaster walls turning it bright pink.
If you're looking for a more upscale spot for your nightcap, the Fitzroy is definitely a great place to go. Our favorite show is Mad Men and they have a drink called "Don Draper" so this was definitely a smash hit with us. They also have really great food, but you definitely need a reservation if you're wanting to have dinner there.
This is where the obsession with Savannah began. If you don't watch "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" you are doing yourself a great disservice. It centers around the true story of a murder that happened in Savannah in the 80s. Some of the characters in the movie are the actual people that lived the story in real life. Definitely check it out. It's on Amazon Prime. The Mercer Williams House is where the murder took place. It's actually open to the public as a museum now if you want to go on a tour.
I know it sounds creepy, but this is one of the most gorgeous spots in Savannah. There is also a ghost tour that goes through the cemetery at night. Sounds like a lot of spooky fun, but you should also go during the day just to see how gorgeous it is.
