We cannot wait to celebrate our love with our closest family and friends!

It all began in early 2017, when fate (and a little help from mutual friends—shoutout to Nikki Itzkowitz!) brought Matt and Layne into each other’s orbit. Both were students at UCF, running in the same Greek life circles—Matt with Zeta Beta Tau, and Layne with Tri Delta. While they crossed paths many times, it wasn’t until that spring that sparks truly flew. From cheering on intramural games together to nights out at campus favorites like Knights Library, Knights Pub, and Stagger Inn, their connection quickly grew. One of their first official events together was a ZBT social with a "Dynamic Duos" theme—fittingly, they went as Clark Kent and Lois La(y)ne. They danced the night away and later that season attended Layne’s Tri Delta formal at the Dr. Phillips Center, marking the start of something truly special. As they got to know each other, Matt and Layne discovered just how many little things they had in common. Layne was thrilled to find out their birthdays were just two days apart—hers on December 3rd, his on the 5th—making them both Sagittarius'. While Matt didn’t know much about zodiac signs at first, Layne was more than happy to fill him in. Layne brings the energy and outgoing spark, while Matt balances her with his steady, protective nature. Together, they’re the perfect blend of fire and grounding. They were aligned not just in personality, but in all the things that mattered most: family, values, and a shared vision for the future. As the youngest in their families, both with big age gaps between them and their siblings, they also connected over being the “babies” of the bunch. Through the rest of college, Matt and Layne were inseparable—sharing memories at music festivals, formals, game days, and spontaneous road trips. After graduation, they started their adult lives in Maitland, FL, where Matt began his career in recruiting and Layne dove into the world of social media. In 2020, their little family grew by four paws with the adoption of Dezzy, a mini Australian shepherd with endless energy and an even bigger personality. Spoiled from day one, she quickly became queen of the house (and everyone’s hearts). Together, they’ve explored the country, making memories on dreamy hikes, beach getaways, and late-night dance floors at EDM festivals. Every adventure has brought them even closer, strengthening the bond they share. In Spring 2023, they bought their first home in Winter Park—a 1957 bungalow they transformed into a vibrant, love-filled haven full of greenery, color, and disco elements. The real star? The backyard, where Dezzy reigns supreme. Now, after eight incredible years of laughter, growth, adventure, and deep love, Matt and Layne are ready for the next chapter. Surrounded by the friends and family who have been part of their journey, they can't wait to say "I do" and celebrate their forever in Sarasota.
