Matt and I both moved to Baltimore during the pandemic. I was on a kickball team with Matt's roommates and my friend Abby and I came over to their house to hang with them. There I met Matt and thought he was pretty cute for a programmer. We quickly started hanging out and going on dates in Baltimore and beyond. I know it was serious when Matt came with me to visit my family and friends in Germany that summer, half a year after we met. We've since been on many trips, moved into a beautiful townhouse, and adopted our very cute cat Louis. Matt wants to add that he still beats me at mini-golf every time we play.

I knew I wanted to marry Laura but wanted the moment to be right to propose. We took a trip to Puerto Rico in January 2023. One evening I suggested we walk down to the local beach to watch the sunset. With a few minutes to go, Laura got suspicious and asked if I was going to propose. I told her I wouldn't tell her if I was, but had just been waiting for the sun to actually start going down. When it did, I told her that despite her nosiness and impatience, I still wanted to marry her. As an engagement gift, she got many kisses and many bug bites from the sand flies at the beach.

On March 3rd, we got married at the Baltimore City Courthouse with both of our families present. After a wonderful wedding lunch, we all took great naps. That night, we had a great house party with our friends and family to tide them over until the real wedding.
