Matthew was thinking he would move to Costa Rica, start his own fishing charter, and ease into retirement. Then he met Kristy and her three amazing kids and the rest is history. Life has taken many unexpected twists and turns since then, but his love for Kristy and the children has never wavered. Britt is one of Kristy's best friends and most trusted confidants. She has stood by Kristy through thick and thin, and deserves every bit of honor this position holds. Britt knew long before Kristy that Matthew was a good catch, and did her part to help things along.

Jerry is Matt's best buddy. They go way back, and have lived a lot of life by each other's side. There's been challenges along the way, but never a shortage of laughs. Kristy has become quite fond of Jerry and affectionately refers to him as her favorite Canadian. He's a great friend!
Brittany Elaine Johnson

Brittany, age 22, is Matt and Kristy's oldest daughter. She is an amazing nanny, an artist, and a genuine lover of nature and animals. She has her own style and way of doing things... A true original! She makes everything fun, and has this uncanny ability to pick the absolute perfect gift for those close to her... she just gets her people. She is so loved and needed by her family!
McKenna Elaine Button

McKenna, age 18, is Matt and Kristy's second oldest child. McKenna is a light, and a grounding force all at the same time. She is creative, sings like an angel, and loves to cook. She has worked so hard to earn her Associates of Arts and Sciences Degree from Whatcom Community College along with her high school diploma this year. She is so loved and appreciated by her family!
Grason Everett Button
Groomsman
Grason, age 16, is Matt and Kristy's only son. He is calm and easy to be with. His presence just makes everything better. He is passionate about music and the outdoors, and is an avid long boarder and mountain biker. He has a gift for taking really interesting photographs! He's working hard at school, and to earn enough money to buy his first truck. He is so loved and valued by his family!

Ashlyn, age 10, is Matt and Kristy's youngest daughter. She is so loving, kind, and a little spunky too! She loves to sing and play outside as much as possible. She has a lot to say and great ideas to share. Ashlyn is one determined little lady, and an absolute joy to be around. She is so loved and seen by her family!
Kurt Langstraat
Pastor/Officiant
Kurt is the lead pastor of Matt and Kristy's Community Church in Lynden. He is wonderful pastor and a trusted friend. He has always chosen grace over judgement, and kindness over condemnation. Kurt has an authentic way of loving people closer to Jesus Christ. Matt and Kristy have the utmost respect for Kurt, and are so very happy he will be a part of such an important moment in their lives.
Mike Mathis
Brother of the Bride & Escort
Mike, Kristy's big brother, is flying all the way from Georgia to walk her down the aisle. Mike has been a constant friend and support to Kristy since the passing of their father Tim Mathis 16 years ago. Kristy is delighted to share that very special moment with her brother, and just couldn't imagine it any other way!
