Matt and I met in an I.S. class back in 2007 and got really close in high school. Before junior prom, I suggested to Matt that he should take one of my friends as his date and he did. I ended up not having a date. Matt had gotten black tie and a tie that was the color of his "date's" dress. I got to Matt's house early to take pictures with him in his black tie, before his date arrived and he had to swap it out (lol). He danced a few songs with her and then ultimately ended up with me the rest of the night. The next day, on April 24th 2010, a bunch of our friends went to Six Flags. Just as we were pulling into the park it was 11:11 am and Matt said, "Make a wish." So, I did and he said, "What did you wish for?" I said, "I'm not telling you!" Matt said, "Well, I wished that you would go out with me." That began our relationship! In April 2019, Matt's parents and brother came down to Florida for a vacation. On Thursday April 18th, Matt said we were going to Rocco's Taco's for dinner with his family. Matt had also mentioned that the hotel his family was staying at had a deal with a photographer for family pictures. When we got to the beach, Matt's mom, Patricia said, "Let's take a picture of all the girls!" We all lined up facing the ocean with our backs to the hotel and took some pictures. I said to everyone, "I think the pictures would look better if we had the ocean behind us.” Patricia quickly said, "Since the photographer works with the hotel, she has to get the hotel building in the background." Her answer was so fast that I went along with it. After the pictures, I turned around. I did a double take because I couldn’t believe what I saw. I saw Matt on one knee and his dad and brother holding heart shaped wooded signs that said, "Will-You-Marry" and Matt's hand had "Me?" written in sharpie marker. I jumped up and down and ran to Matt. I said YES! Matt put the beautiful engagement ring on my finger and I hugged and kissed him. I was SO happy!
