Visit our historic downtown! check out all of the shops, grab a bite to eat, or find a good cup of coffee. Make sure to stop in Hannah Grimes, grab a coffee at Prime Roast, and check out the Art Corridor on Emerald St.
One of our favorite, short walks. This walk boasts a waterfall, right in Keene City limits! This walk is right in our neighborhood, off of Concord Rd. and is about 1.5 miles round trip. The route is completely paved and quite easy, but offers a great scenic view. Make sure to stop along the way to take a look at The Old Man of Keene!
Madame Sherri is the most quintessential Cheshire County walk. The Madame Sherri Forest is named after a former owner, Madame Antoinette Sherri, a Paris-born theatrical costume designer who worked in New York City during the early 1900s. She and her husband built a French-inspired chateau summer house in Chesterfield that featured extensive stonework including a roman arch stairway, ornate interior, and designed landscape gardens. The house burned down completely in 1963. Today, ancient sugar maples surround a stone foundation and stairway, a large empty fireplace tapers to a freestanding chimney. The walk is mild and follows a small pond up to the remains of the estate. Additional trails are also available for further exploration!
Looking for something a little funkier? Head across the river to Brattleboro! Kim's personal favorite. Make sure to check out Boomerang, get a coffee or limeade at Mocha Joe's, and swing by Grafton Cheese!
With many located in the neighboring town of Swanzey, take a drive and look at some of our historic covered bridges. Get out and walk some of the rail trails for a nice view!
One of our favorite places. Walk across the dam, around the hiking trails, or take a swim if the weather is warm!
Situated on a hilltop with a panoramic view of the Grand Monadnock, the Cathedral of the Pines is a breathtaking open-air cathedral and meeting space on 236 acres. The historic monuments honor the service of American men and women—both military and civilian. They welcome visitors from all over the world to participate in our events and to explore the extraordinary sanctuary grounds, meditate in outdoor chapels and gardens, and learn history
A short, moderate hike with great views.
