Wedding Party

Julia

Bride

It's me! Hi! I'm the bride, it's me! (Or whatever Taylor Swift said.) - I’ve spent most of my life working in emergency medicine—as a paramedic, nurse, and now as an educator. I thrive in chaos, love helping others, and always have coffee within reach. I’m passionate about teaching, advocating for my community, and creating spaces where people feel seen and supported. Outside of work, I’m all about live music, spontaneous road trips, and laughing until it hurts. I’ve been lucky to walk through life with some incredible people, and I feel even luckier to be marrying Matt—my best friend, my calm in the storm, and my favorite adventure yet.

Matt

Groom

Is this thing on? Hello! I'm the groom! I have spent most of my life in public safety as a paramedic and firefighter. I followed in my father's footsteps in high school by joining the Metuchen First Aid Squad and the Metuchen Fire Department, which led me to where I am today. A late friend and mentor who was briefly the Program Director at Union County College recognized my desire to teach others. They hired me as a Paramedic Instructor before leaving the college themselves. When Julia assumed the role of Program Director, she reached out and asked if I was still interested in teaching. Somehow, I managed to catch my new boss's attention, because here we are getting married! I am incredibly fortunate to have Julia by my side, and I am looking forward to our future together. In my spare time, I enjoy time with my friends playing video games, tabletop gaming, and a variety of other activities that would certainly qualify me as a "nerd".

Jessica

Matron of Honor

Jessica and I met nearly 15 years ago when her husband and I became work partners. It took about half a second for us to become friends—instant connection, no explanation needed. Since then, we’ve built the kind of friendship that most people only dream of. I managed to turn her into a beer drinker (a personal victory), and she’s managed to get me through some of the most difficult moments in my life—something far more meaningful. Jessica has been my steady rock when things felt like they were falling apart, the voice I needed when I couldn’t find my own, and the person who reminded me that even in the darkest times, I wasn’t alone. Her love, loyalty, and unwavering belief in me have helped shape the woman I am today. There are no words strong enough to capture how much it means to me to have her standing by my side as my Matron of Honor. She’s not just a best friend—she’s family. And I wouldn’t be here, in this moment, without her.

Sam

Best Man

Kim

Bridesmaid

Kim and I met in Sunday school at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, which means our friendship has quite literally spanned almost our entire lives. From childhood playdates and church events to teenage secrets and adult milestones, we've grown up together in every sense of the word. She's seen every version of me—awkward, hopeful, heartbroken, and strong—and loved me through it all. Even though Kim now lives a few states away, distance has never changed how close we are. She remains one of my dearest, most trusted friends. The kind of friend who knows not just your history, but your heart. (And let’s be honest—she knows way too much to ever go anywhere!) Ours is the kind of friendship that time and miles can’t touch. I’m endlessly grateful for the laughter, loyalty, and lifelong bond we share, and I’m so proud to have her standing with me on one of the most important days of my life.

Eric

Groomsman

Eric and I have been friends since our time together as EMTs at Atlantic EMS. When covering EMS 8 together, we would spend our shifts at the Mountainside Rescue Squad watching Futurama and playing video games. Over the past 12 years, we have supported each other through life's ups and downs. While conflicting schedules are always a hassle, we have always had each other's backs and made an effort to keep up.

Lydia

Bridesmaid

Lydia and I met the way a lot of great stories begin—at work. We were both paramedics and educators, thrown together by the chaos and camaraderie that come with this line of work. At first, we were colleagues, but it didn’t take long for that connection to grow into something much deeper. Over the years, we became each other's safe harbor—cheering each other on through school, leaning on one another during the hardest trials life could throw at us, and never letting each other forget to laugh along the way. There’s a unique bond that forms when you’ve navigated emergencies together, taught side by side, and still found ways to bring joy into the hardest days. Lydia wasn’t just someone I worked with—she became one of my closest friends. That’s why, when Matt proposed, she was one of the very first people I called. She had walked through so much of life with me already—it only made sense that she’d be there for one of the happiest moments too.

Jasen

Groomsman

Jasen and I met back in 2015 when we were both EMTs working for Atlantic EMS. Although I was his supervisor at the time, we had several common interests, and both served in the NJ National Guard. Today we are both Paramedics, and when I am working at RWJ Mobile Health, he is my supervisor (well, well, well, how the turntables), but we have built a lasting friendship over the last 10 years.

Rachel

Bridesmaid

Although Rachel and I only met a few months ago, she and Matt go wayyyy back. She’s a Daisy Award–winning ICU nurse at the same hospital where I work as a paramedic, and we were lucky enough to cross paths one day at work before we were formally introduced. Knowing the backstory of her friendship with Matt, I walked right up to her and asked, “Are you the girlfriend killer??” Without missing a beat, Rachel knew exactly who I was—and of course, a selfie had to be sent to Matt and his dad, Joe. Rachel is truly the best bonus friend a girl could ask for, and I’m so honored to have her standing beside me on my big day.

Andrew

Groomsman

Andrew and I met through Julia. He and his wife, Jessica, have been two of her best friends for almost 20 years. From road trips to late night Helldiving, Andrew has welcomed me like a long lost friend.

Kristin

Bridesmaid

Kristin and I met through Matt's friendship with her husband Sam (Matt's best man). Over the last year, I have been lucky enough to call Kristin a friend. She was instrumental in planning our Super Secret Squirrel event in November, and I am thrilled to have her standing by my side when Matt and I quite literally tie the knot in May. Here's to many more years of friendship, cookie exchanges, and hopefully watching our kiddos grow up to be besties.

Noam

Groomsman

Ruthie

Junior Bridesmaid

Ruthie, Kim’s daughter, holds a very special place in my heart. I’ve had the true honor and joy of watching this beautiful, strong, and courageous young lady blossom into the incredible little human she is today. Her kindness, spirit, and playful heart light up every room she's in. It means the world to me to have her by my side on such a meaningful day—bringing joy, laughter, and a touch of sparkle to the celebration. I can’t imagine this moment without her.
