FAQs

Question

Where is the wedding being held?

Answer

The wedding and reception will be held at Bird Rock Tropicals- 221 Princehouse Ln. Encinitas, CA 92024 Jen’s boss (and the owner of the property, Pam) has graciously offered to allow us to have the wedding at her gorgeous Encinitas property. Jen currently works at the nursery and Virginia Azevedo worked there for 20 years! The location is off of Encinitas Blvd., down bumpy Princehouse Lane (go slow!). It may seem like you took a wrong turn and are driving to the wrong place, but look for the event signs and the bromeliads and you’ll find it!

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We know that getting childcare can be difficult, so if it’s between bringing your kids or not coming, they are welcome! If you think your child might have a lot to say during the ceremony, please consider sitting towards the back or sides of the aisles so you can allow them to to express themselves in a different location. :) Also be aware that parts of this location are both private property and a working plant nursery (there are a few pokey plants around) so extra parental attention might be needed to keep children safe and in appropriate areas.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We’re aiming for semi-formal/garden party. This is a beautiful, lush, garden property in Encinitas with a bit of an ocean view and we’d like to echo that vibe. It is also late April in the late afternoon towards sunset, so please bring a layer in case it gets chilly or damp.

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

As we’re trying to be more minimal and intentional with our purchases, we decided to focus our registry on experiences and our future together. We have a honeymoon fund and a home fund set up if you would like to contribute something.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We think that everyone should be able to attend our wedding with someone they care about, be it a spouse, partner, or friend, so all invitations include a plus one and children.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP as soon as you have an idea if you can come. If something changes and you need to change your RSVP you’re welcome to do so! Just keep us updated. We would appreciate it if, at the latest you let us know by about 30-60 days out (by February to late March).

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There will be space available for parking on site, however some of it is a bit away from the ceremony site (3-6 minutes). The parking is fairly limited so please carpool if you can. As it is now, we will likely be double parking some cars to fit everyone in. If you think you might need to leave early please let us know so we can make sure you don’t get blocked in. Closer parking will be available for people will mobility issues, and we will have a golf cart to transport people from the further lot.

Question

What footwear should I wear?

Answer

The ceremony will be on grass and there will be a little bit of walking from the parking areas over gravel and a non-paved road. We highly encourage that women wear either flats or shoes with somewhat of a thicker/chunkier heel (pointy stilettos not advised) so you don’t spend the evening sinking into the ground!

Question

What food options will be available for dinner?

Answer

We are serving food from our favorite Chinese restaurant, Panda Garden. As we know some guests will have dietary considerations, we will be offering the following food options: Vegetarian Dairy Free Beef Chicken I know some guests have food sensitivities, so please reach out if necessary, so we can figure out something that will work for you!

Question

Are we allowed to take photos?

Answer

Sure! Just make sure your phones are on silent as soon as you arrive and things get going. Just PLEASE don’t get in the way of the photographers- they’re there to take pictures in the prime photo locations. Please upload or send all wedding day photos to the bride and groom so we can save those memories of our special day.
