Our Story
Our story began at Hangout Festival in Gulf Shores, AL, in May ‘19. Luck brought Janelle and Matt together when our friends, coincidentally staying at the same condo for the music festival, were all down at the pool one morning. Matt floated over on a pizza floatie and struck up a conversation with Janelle. We made plans to meet the next morning and again that night, which was the last night of the festival. What started as a casual beach stroll extended into conversations until the wee hours. The ease of connection was effortless.
2 days later, Matt deployed to Afghanistan, but over the next 4 months, our bond flourished over Sunday FaceTime dates. In July ‘22, atop a breathtaking sunrise hike in Hawaii, Matt proposed. Our journey continued with our legal marriage in Colorado in Nov. ‘22, marked by a family ceremony in Dec. In Oct. ‘23 and after 4 years of long-distance, we finally were able to move in together!
We cannot wait to renew our vows and celebrate with you in October!
