Matt and Jamie met in April 2008 in Carmel, Indiana. As recent college graduates, it took a night out with friends for Jamie and Matt to meet at The Brockway Public House. Brockway was not only located within their complex, it became a place where many great memories would be formed. From meeting new friends to creating signature drinks, Brockway always meant a good time and it will always be a special place.
Back in 2008, our story began. Like all fairy tales, Jamie and Matt's journey took a few unexpected turns. As their relationship began to grow more than a decade ago, Matt was offered a new position professionally that required relocation. Matt ended up in Florida for five years, before moving back to Indiana in 2015. In 2017, almost 9 years from the date they first met, Jamie and Matt reconnected. For both of them, after such time apart, even with nerves filling their stomachs, it was incredible how natural and familiar the reunion felt. From that moment on, both knew life was about to change.
Some may call it unconventional, but our path, by design, has been filled with countless magical moments…some of which include: selling our homes, building a house, living in our first apartment, welcoming our first born (Hayden Hawk), moving into our new home, having our twins (Liam James and Ava Lyne) AND finally, celebrating our engagement. Our life and our story have been blessed by many unforgettable moments, surrounded by the best friends and family we could possibly ask for. To us, it couldn't be a more beautiful story and we thank you for being part of it.
Dreams of a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding, in the Italy West Plaza in Epcot, set the stage for a Italian themed Sunday fun day. The afternoon started with a gondola ride down the Indianapolis canal. The authenticity was undeniable, as we were serenaded with Italian vocals and unique local history during the time spent on the water. Little did Jamie know; we had a secret photographer capturing moments throughout our time on the canal. Matt surprised Jamie by proposing on stop #1 of an eventful day. Next stop was candle making in the Carmel Art District, where we celebrated the occasion by making candles to represent the day and our journey. We then had dinner at an Italian restaurant where we were greeted with champagne. The evening and showstopper was set to be a Hot Air Balloon launch from our neighborhood cul-de-sac, but potential weather concerns put a delay on that. All in all, it was a beautiful day start to finish and one that neither of us will ever forget.
