Can we bring kids?

Answer

Yes, you are able to bring your kids. Keep in mind there is no play ground equipment in Parachilna. We might look into the option of a baby sitter so if you are interested in this please let us know

What is Black Tie?

Answer

We would love to see our family and friends dress up with us! Gents, this means black suits or tuxedo with bow tie. Ladies, please wear colour and cocktail/formal dresses.

What is the best way to get to Parachilna?

Answer

It depends where you are coming from. Below are a few options 1. Fly to Adelaide & hire a vehicle to drive north 2. Driving: From Adelaide: 5 hours - 470kms From Port Augusta: 2 hours - 195kms From Sydney: 17.5 hours - 1,600kms From Tumut: 14 hours - 1,300kms From Armidale: 17.5 hours - 1,650kms If there are a lot of people flying into Adelaide there may be an option of hiring a mini bus which might be a cheaper alternative. Let us know if you are interested in this. This would be a cost to those involved.

Can you get public transport to Parachilna?

What should I bring & what is available at Parachilna?

Answer

Feel free to bring your own food and snacks for the days other than the wedding. The pub is the only food option in Parachilna and meal times will be set by the pub. There is a convenience store at Angorichina Village which is a 20 minute drive on a dirt road. Leigh Creek is the closest town with a supermarket but is a 60km drive one way and is only open for limited hours a few days a week. You can bring your own alcohol however the pub is a licensed venue.

Do I need to pay for accommodation?

Accommodation will be assigned and will be subsidised by us. We will let you know if you will need to arrange your own accommodation offsite. Other nearby accommodation options are listed on this website.

Can I camp?

Answer

Yes! Parachilna has a full camp ground with camp kitchen and shared bathrooms. If you want to camp, please let us know. We kindly ask those who have the ability to camp to utilise the campground so we can give accommodation to those who can't camp.

If I am driving, where can I get fuel?

Answer

The closest fuel stop to Parachilna is Hawker which is 90kms south. There is a service station here as well as a 24 hour fuel stop. There is also fuel at Angorichina Village as well as Leigh Creek.
