It was the summer of 2021. Matt had just moved to Northeast Mpls with his friend Josh and were ready to hit the town as two eligible bachelors, which included downloading all the dating apps. Meanwhile, Helena was on a girl's trip in Florida (FYI don't go to Florida in August...) and the girls were going through her Hinge matches to kill some time. What started out as "he's cute... and no photos with fish!" quickly turned into "drinks this weekend?" The date went off without a hitch, and turned into another and another, from talking about hobbies, friends, and family over MN Nice Cream to having heated discussions about why Papa John's pizza should be renamed Papa Shaq's given he is the official spokesperson, and how weird of a concept the movie Space Jam is. Since then, we've travelled together, spent countless hours at Jimmy's in NE, bought a house and learned how to use SO MANY tools! And of course, Matt's learned way too much about water and Helena's learned way too much about lawnmowers... and now snowblowers. If you asked us about the specific moment we knew we had something special, we'd both give you different answers. Over the last five years, these moments have popped up sporadically and continue to remind us of how lucky we are to have one another. From parties with friends, on wedding dance floors, North Shore drives, early morning walks, late night Taco Bell drive-throughs, and quiet hikes through waterfalls - Those moments have never stopped and we hope they never will.
