Dana and Matt first met in college when Dana invited Matt to a party. He showed up, stayed just long enough to say hello, and quickly left. But as luck (and proximity) would have it, Matt’s dorm was on the floor below Dana’s, so they kept running into each other—whether it was in the hallways, on their way to class, or just around campus. Before long, they started spending more and more time together. Coffee breaks between classes turned into hours of conversation and laughter, and soon, they became best friends. What started as a casual invite grew into a deep and lasting friendship that neither of them could imagine life without.
Dana and Matt’s first date was two years later going to the movies to see Cinderella (in live action, of course). There were a few initial nerves, knowing they were finally shifting from friends to something more. But once they settled in with popcorn and started watching the movie, it felt easy and natural. They laughed, shared a few moments, and by the time the credits rolled, they realized how fun and comfortable the whole evening had been. It wasn’t anything extravagant, but it was the perfect start to something special.

Eventually, they took the next step and moved in together, making their home even more special with the addition of their dog, Russell, the other love of their lives. Matt proposed to Dana at Sunset Cliffs in San Diego—a place that already held so many memories for them. It was the same spot where, back in 2014, they had gone cliff jumping with a group of friends during their college days. Standing there again, Matt got down on one knee and asked Dana to marry him. It was a perfect mix of nostalgia, adventure, and love, everything that makes their story so special. Talk about taking the leap!
