Matt and Charlsley met back in 11th grade when they both had economics and chemistry class together... I guess you could say they had chemistry. They paired up in making a fake company in Economics class, and the rest was history. Matt and Charlsley started dating the month before their senior year of high school on August 5th, 2014 and have been growing stronger ever since. Matt proposed to Charlsley on his 21st birthday on September 6th, 2017 in one of their favorite restaurants to go to for date nights, Zheng Garden. Matt and Charlsley are so excited for this next chapter in life and for all of you joining them for it!

Matt proposed to Charlsley on his 21st birthday, which was September 6th, 2017. He invited both of their families to one of their favorite restaurants to go on dates to, a little Chinese restaurant called Zheng Garden. Right as they were about to cut the birthday cake, the waitress came by and dropped a huge pile of fortune cookies right in front of Charlsley. Matt's mom suggested that they should go down the table and have everyone open their cookies and read the fortunes out loud to everyone, and she suggested Charlsley start. Inside, her cookie read "there is an engagement in your future" and she knew from that very second what was going. Matt opened his cookie and handed her the fortune to read as it read "Charlsley Carey will you marry me?" and he got down on one knee and pulled out another fortune cookie, and upon cracking it open revealed the ring inside the cookie. It was sweet, beautiful, and the cookies were delicious.
