Meet Matt Rickett Native of Portland, Maine, expat of LA and now honorable Texan, Matt is one of a kind. Little do people know Matt has blossomed from cut off denim shorts and Teva’s to a full suit on the daily. You’ll find Matt reading a book with classical or jazz music playing in the background. He is devilish with his extra dirty martini and always the person you want to ask to make one. Matt builds a community wherever he is. It’s hard to miss him at 6 foot 2. But it’s more than his height that makes people gravitate towards him. He has a laugh that lights up a room. He has wit that only few can master. He can speak on almost any subject and adds insight to any topic. He is reliable and will always show up for you. Matt is Catherine’s rock. Though she will never admit it. He keeps her going and always encourages her to do whatever she wants (within reason). He goes out of his way to plan delightful surprises. He cooks every meal. He listens to every thought. He is her chauffeur.

From the groom. Meet Catherine McFarland. She’s a rare, native Austinite and former New Yorker. She has made her way back to her hometown and will be celebrating her marriage at her mother’s house – her dream since she was a child. To the chagrin of her former fashion-industry colleagues, Catherine is a former D1 athlete and a star soccer player at her high school. She has an incredible green thumb and can often be found scuttling around the yard, tending to her garden and creating a beautiful space for Matt and Cat to live. Catherine is joyful and exuberantly positive. She’s Matt’s little ray of sunshine, especially since she wakes up well before the sun rises every day and goes to bed, oftentimes, before it sets. Catherine makes everyone feel seen and heard. She is empathetic, accepting, loving, and will do anything to make her friends and family happy. Catherine counteracts Matt’s broody, New England quietness. She brings joy, adventure, laughter, and energy to everything they do together. She turns the smallest, most mundane parts of life into the most precious moments in Matt’s day.
