FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by Monday, October 20. We’ll be crossing our fingers (and toes) that you say yes!

Question

I looked up Bottom Lounge, looks like it’s a concert venue, not a wedding venue. Explain.

Answer

True! Bottom Lounge is a music venue, and there will be a show downstairs that night starting at 8pm. But upstairs, it’ll be all wedding, all us. And as tempting as it may be to crash the concert, the show is ticketed (though we’ll probably still consider sneaking in…).

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! There’s a dedicated lot just east of the entrance. Spots are first-come, first-served.

Question

I’m not driving. How should I get to the ceremony?

Answer

We recommend Uber or Lyft. From the Hyatt Place River North, the venue is about 15 minutes away. From the Hyatt House Fulton Market, it’s just a 2-minute ride or a 10-minute walk.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Guests are welcome beginning at 5:00 pm, and the ceremony will start promptly at 5:30. Please arrive with enough time to settle in and grab a seat before the best ceremony you’ll ever attend begins.

Question

Do you expect us to cry during the ceremony?

Answer

Absolutely. Bonus points if you ugly-cry.

Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

We love your little ones! However, we’ve chosen to keep our wedding an adults-only celebration. We hope this gives you a fun night out to relax, celebrate, and dance the night away with us.

Question

Will there be dancing?

Answer

Oh yes. If you’re not on the dance floor, we’ll assume you’re at the bar fueling up for round two.

Question

I have a food allergy. Can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! When you RSVP, there will be a spot to share any dietary restrictions so we can plan accordingly.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Cocktail attire, please! That means suits, dresses (any length), or a killer jumpsuit. Dress to impress, but most importantly - wear your dancing shoes. Dress codes for the rest of the weekend are listed on the Schedule page.

Question

What will the weather be like in Chicago that weekend?

Answer

Who knows?! November in Chicago is unpredictable - it could be 72 and sunny or 41 and gloomy. Check the forecast before you pack, and know that rain or shine, we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Question

What if I lose my tie, heel, or dignity?

Answer

Consider it a successful night.
