Matt and Brittany first met while working together at Fishman PR, but their story feels like it may have started long before that. Both grew up in the Chicago suburbs, and Brittany spent much of her childhood visiting her grandparents in Glenview—Matt’s hometown. There’s a good chance they unknowingly crossed paths over the years, maybe grabbing ice cream at the same local spot or playing just steps apart at a neighborhood park. Fate clearly had something special in store—it just took its time. When they finally met as coworkers in the city, everything clicked. What started as a professional connection quickly blossomed into an easy, genuine friendship filled with inside jokes, coffee breaks, and after-work happy hours. It was clear from the beginning that there was something different about this connection—something that felt natural, comfortable, and real. Then came the company holiday party. Amid the twinkle lights and festive buzz, the spark between them became impossible to ignore. The very next day, they went on their first official date: a magical stroll through the Lincoln Park Zoo’s holiday light display. It was cozy, romantic, and marked the beginning of a love story that’s felt like home ever since. And of course, Brittany came as a package deal—with her dog, Roxy. From the moment Matt met her, he was completely smitten. Roxy quickly became his second love (right behind Brittany), and the three of them have been inseparable ever since. Whether it's long walks, weekend snuggles, or Roxy’s perfectly timed interruptions, she’s been there every step of the way—and fully approved from day one. Over time, Matt and Brittany built a life filled with love, laughter, and little traditions that make their story uniquely theirs—like annual holiday light walks to honor that first date, and cozy game nights that always end in laughter and a bit of playful competition. As twins, they both understood the joy of having a built-in best friend—and in each other, they found the perfect partner for life’s next adventure. Sometimes, love sneaks in quietly, through familiar streets, shared stories, and a dog’s wagging tail. For Matt and Brittany, it was always easy, always meant to be—and from the very beginning, they just knew: this was it. After dating for a year and a half, Matt and Brittany decided it was time to take the next step and move in together. They found their first shared home in the heart of River North at Grand Plaza—an apartment that quickly became filled with cozy dinners, weekend takeout, and their usual dose of laughter (and dog hair). While their one-bedroom setup had its challenges—sharing closet space, figuring out whose turn it was to take Roxy out, and discovering that yes, Brittany really does need that many throw pillows—it also became a space where their relationship deepened. Sure, there were moments when the walls felt a little too close or the laundry pile a little too big, but they wouldn’t have had it any other way. Living together brought even more joy, more teamwork, and more love into their everyday lives. They learned how to build a home, not just with furniture and framed Dead & Company posters, but with patience, playfulness, and a whole lot of grace for each other. That little apartment became the setting for so many milestones: birthdays, holidays, quiet nights in, spontaneous dance parties in the kitchen, and Sunday mornings spent curled up with Roxy, and of course, a cup of coffee. It was never perfect, but it was perfectly them. As Matt and Brittany begin this new chapter together, they feel so grateful for the happiness they’ve found in each other—and for the love and support that surrounds them. They’re even more thankful to you for taking the time to read their story and be part of this very special day. Here’s to a lifetime of love, laughter, and many more memories to come.
