Time is flexible. We will start cooking around noon on September 11th and have the park reserved for the entire day. If there is something in the area that strikes your fancy, feel free to explore the area before heading over or get a hearty lunch in before exploring!
We're keeping it relaxed for the weekend. Food, music, bonfires, and great people! What else could you need?... except for water to stay properly hydrated and stuff like that.
FLANNEL! Layers are a popular option for all seasons in Northern Minnesota. Even in Duluth, there can be a 20 degree difference between Canal Park and the top of the hill (a few miles difference). It's always good to have a few items on hand to grab if it gets chilly. If you rent a kayak, plan on getting wet. There is also a swimming area if you want to take a dip! September is one of the warmest lake temp months, so you should't freeze.
While there are picnic tables, a camp chair if you have one would be a good idea. A cooler for your beverages if you are bringing your own (we will have non-alcoholic options for everyone). A blanket or a towel cause you never know.
Oh tons of stuff! First, there are kayaks to rent in the area. Second, we'll have cornhole, a pinata, and a whole bunch of other activities.
Yes! Just let Matt and I know!
