In February 2020, we matched on the dating app Hinge. After conversing for a little bit on the app we decided to exchange numbers (but Amy gave Matt a google number because she wanted to make sure he wasn't crazy first). We went on our first date on a Sunday night at Legends Bar and Grill in Yorkville where we had a beer and shared some chips & salsa. We talked about our family and our hobbies. Matt talked about how he liked golfing and fishing, and that his parents had a cottage up in Waupaca, WI where him and his dad fished a lot. Amy was "hooked". We finished up our date and said goodnight. We continued to talk over the next few weeks, then about 2 weeks later just before Covid shut everything down, we went on our second date at Suzy's Bar and Grill in Yorkville. It just so happened that they were doing trivia at the bar that night which was a lot of fun and we had a bunch of laughs. We then finished up the night playing a round of pool and some darts. The night ended with our first kiss as we said goodbye. Then... dun dun dun... Covid shut everything down and we were forced into quarantine. It ended up being about a month before we decided to venture out to meet up again. We started meeting up at local forest preserves where we could social distance outside. With Matt being a plumber, he could still potentially be exposed to covid at anytime so we took precautions. Eventually we started to get a little more comfortable with at least a hug goodbye. Finally, on May 7th Amy went over to Matt's house for a bonfire. We did a lot of talking and shared our feelings about each other. We said goodbye for the evening with an passionate kiss and then that was that. We decided we were officially a couple and we no longer wanted to date anyone else. Our amazing journey as a couple was finally beginning.
