If there's anything else you need to know- It's probably here!
Question

Do I have to wear a costume?

Answer

No! You are welcome to dress normally, formally, or extraordinarily. If you choose to wear a costume, please make sure it is tasteful and/or family-friendly.

Question

Can I bring props?

Answer

Yes! Reasonably sized props and costume accessories are welcome, please be respectful of the other guests and wedding party.

Question

My costume includes prop weapons. Can I bring them?

Answer

Yes- within certain parameters. Plastic obvious toy or LARP weapons are generally fine, but please read this entire section! Any actual bladed weapons should remain secured and sheathed during the ceremony. There will be a special opportunity during the reception to draw your swords! Any ranged prop weapons should be completely "fake", non-functional, secured, holstered, and clearly marked. If you couldn't bring it to a convention, you probably shouldn't carry it to our wedding! Our reception is directly across from the Kannapolis City Police Department, so safety is a MUST. Posing with prop weapons for photos INSIDE the Laureate Center is fine, but any guest brandishing a prop weapon inappropriately will be expelled from the event. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU GET INTO TROUBLE WITH THE POLICE FOR CARRYING OR HANDLING YOUR PROP WEAPONS INAPPROPRIATELY!!! We cannot stress this enough - this is our wedding day - please don't be stupid.

Question

Are the venues handicapped accessible?

Answer

Yes! The main floor of the Gem Theatre is wheelchair accessible, and there are sections of seating that can accommodate mobility chairs. The Laureate Center is also fully accessible.

Question

Where should I stay if I'm coming from out of town?

Answer

Our recommended hotel is the Hampton Inn Concord/Kannapolis. Check out our "Travel" page for details!

Question

Should I bring a gift?

Answer

Gifts are not required, but we would absolutely appreciate anything you want to bless us with. Please check out our Registry page to see our Zola and our Amazon registry!

Question

Can I bring my pet?

Answer

No. Unfortunately, neither the Gem Theatre nor the Laureate Center allow pets. However, registered service animals are always welcome.

Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Yes, there will be an open bar available at the reception. Please drink responsibly! Unruly guests risk being expelled!

Question

What kind of food will be served?

Answer

We will have a taco bar with all the toppings! Beef, chicken, and al pastor. Queso, guacamole, sour cream, and as much salsa as you can handle. And of course, wedding cake! If you have special dietary needs, please notify the bride and groom directly.

Question

Will there be assigned seating?

Answer

Nope! Sit where you like for the ceremony and the reception.
