We Eloped!

We will be exchanging vows at our private ceremony on June 11th, 2024 in Jamaica. We will be having a casual after party in Colorado at Clement Park (Gazebo M) to celebrate on June 29th, 2024. Click above to RSVP for the after party.

We met with the help from baseball and our friend Justina. It was Rockies Opening Day 2017, and we were left to the streets of Denver together. Our friends bought tickets to the game conveniently, so that we could get to know each other. A BIG surprise to us. What we mostly remember that day was how very quickly we built trust with one another. At one point we had to separate for a quick moment and both of us realized neither had each others phone numbers. Even though we were both creating back up plans incase the other ventured off, of course, one of us stayed put while the other came back. It was an instant relief to see that, "This person was a good one." The following day Marlena checked in on Matt to make sure he got home safe from taking the light rail home the night before, which lead to another meeting. Matt drove all the way down from Boulder, CO (where he lived) to Castle Rock, CO (where Marlena lived), to spend the day with her. We had a great time eating Stumpy's pizza and meeting up with Marlena's friends. Though it was an hour and a half drive between the two places, we didn't mind since we looked forward to seeing each other so much. For our next year of dating we did that every weekend alternating locations until we decided to move in together. Proud to say that after living in 2 apartments, buying 1 house, going through a pandemic, and supporting Marlena's education... there is no one else we would rather spend all of our time with than each other. Now we cannot wait to tie the knot!
