Back in November of 2018 a small indie band called The Wrecks with only 8 songs in their discography was headlining a show in Columbus. Carey had driven down to go to the show by herself, much like she had done many times before. Once she got there she met Matt and his friends who quickly absorbed her into their group for the night. They drank, they sang along, they had a blast before ultimately parting ways at the end of the night going on to become urban legends in each others lives. Matt and his friends went on to talk about The Wrecks Girl and how much fun she was to hang out with at the show and Carey told all her friends about The Concert Himbos who were polite and funny while taking care of her in the pit. Flash forward to November of 2021 and The Wrecks were on tour again, this time in Cleveland. Carey was with her cousin who were both a little stir crazy post lockdown. This time around she walked up to a group of guys and invited them to hang out them for the show completely unaware who they were until Matt asked if she had ever seen The Wrecks before and in that moment they both had a similar reaction of "holy sh*t it's you!" They all excitedly exchanged socials because what are the odds after three years they found each other again. Just like last time they drank, they sang along, and had a blast. Time went on and another tour was announced and The Wrecks were headed to Columbus in of June 2022 but this time they were prepared. Carey messaged Matt to see if he'd be there and he said he'd meet her in Columbus. Unlike the times before both groups met up in line waiting for doors to open and actually got a chance to get to know each other. Once they got inside the concert progressed as usual and after some awkward flirting and a few drinks for courage Carey waited for one of their few non breakup songs to play and turned around and kissed Matt for the first time garnering cheers from their friends. After that there wasn't a doubt in either of their minds that they wanted to be together and have been inseparable since.
