Our favorite park in the city - great sunset views of Elliot Bay and Mt. Rainier
Beth's favorite brunch place (no relation)... the corned beef hash is fantastic and the portions are massive! Definitely more for those who appreciate greasy food and the historic Seattle grunge.
Great place to grab a cocktail in the evenings - sit out on the adirondak chairs and enjoy the view of Lake Union.
Fantastic lunch spot for a nice day. Walk along the piers and watch the seaplanes!
Best fish and chips in town in a Seattle-classic bar.
Great local brewery to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather.
If it's raining, this is a great (indoor) historical tour of Seattle's oldest neighborhood. If you go at night, the tour is extra salacious.
Best view in town - skip the lines and cost of the Space Needle and get a view of the Space Needle - and all the mountains!
Fun fact - the original designs for the Space Needle were created by the architect of our house. Observation deck tickets cost approximately $30 per person so we recommend going to the Sky View Observatory at Columbia tower for a view from the tallest building in Seattle that includes a view of the Space Needle. If the Space Needle is definitely on the to-do list, we've heard that their (slightly overpriced) brunch is a good way to get the experience in the rotating restaurant without paying individual admission.
If you've heard about two things in Seattle, it's the Space Needle and this place. The Athenian Restaurant is where Tom Hanks ate in Sleepless in Seattle. It has a great view of the sound and decent fish and chips.
Great neighborhood to walk around and explore - the Sunday Farmer's Market is fantastic! And so are the restaurants and numerous breweries!
Classic Seattle overlook
Great view of the city.
Rent kayaks and paddle amongst the houseboats in Portage Bay and into Lake Union!
See Seattle from above and swoop in between the buildings of Seattle for a landing on Lake Union.
Regarded as one of the best coffee roasters in the city, stop in and grab an espresso. If the weather is good and you'd like to mix it up with some of the colorful residents of Capitol Hill, head a little way down the street and grab it from their sidewalk hut.
Probably the most well-known gourmet ice cream shop in Seattle. Give them a try, then get another at Kurt's Farmshop (a few blocks away) to compare.
This bar is a fantastic spot to enjoy some tasty cocktails, an amazing view, and a bit of Seattle history. The first skyscraper in Seattle, the Observatory Bar is intricately detailed in a historic Chinese theme - it's truly stunning! It costs $12 per person to ride the elevator but the views and ambiance are completely worth it!
Another great rooftop bar, this place is really trendy with nice fire pits and seating areas. Great views of downtown and Lake Union! Expect a bit of a wait on nice days but you can enjoy a cocktail in their first floor bar while you wait to be seated upstairs.
