Both of us are Engineering Majors; Suzy studies Electrical and Matt does Computer. We sat by each other in a Linear Algebra class in October 2024. Suzy was smitten by the way Matt fell asleep with his mouth open and drooled during every lecture. Even so, it wasn't until January that the sparks really began to fly. The first day of "Intro to Computer Systems," Matt said the opening prayer (he's spiritual like that, it's whatever.) After saying amen, he opened his eyes, and there she was: the cutest girl he'd ever seen in his life. But he had to keep his cool. He said "Hi, Suzy," nonchalantly. She just smiled politely, since she'd forgotten his name. As fate would have it, they had two classes back to back, the other being Ordinary Differential Equations. Despite this, Matt knew Suzy was much more than ordinary. As the weeks went by and they walked together from one class to the other, Matt tried to win her over with his incredible good looks, but to no avail. As February approached, he began to lose hope, and in his desperate hour, he decided to shoot his final shot. He texted her and asked if she would like to get ice cream that Friday. Eight very long hours later, she responded saying that she had work on Friday. Defeated, Matt said no worries. But to his great joy, she asked what other day might work. In an attempt to recover his pride, Matt said he would get back to her later, because he was busy too (he wasn't.) Two days later, he came crawling back and they arranged their first date at Sub Zero ice cream, with a great view of the Provo City Center temple (foreshadowing!) Over the next couple of weeks Suzy took Matt rock climbing, he took her to In-N-Out, and after an extensive period of two weeks, Matt asked her to be his girlfriend, to which she sensibly said no. But they kept going out until a week and a half later, when Suzy finally realized her enormous mistake and they made it official. Matt is very excited to marry Suzy. She is the funniest, cutest, smartest, hardest workingest girl in the whole world and Matt is thankful for her every day. She makes a 5 month engagement feel like forever and makes forever feel like not long enough. -Matt
