We've got some pretty great beaching, and all about 30 minutes away! Enjoy a walk, let the kids play in the sand, or venture for surfing? A few of our favorite beach destinations: - Zuma Beach (great for families) - Matador State Beach (a little more seeking required, but once you get down - the scenery is absolutely stunning) - Point Dume (Amazing spot for views/and a walk on the beach) - Paradise Cove - Has a good restaurant and sunny vibes! - Take a drive through Topanga Canyon and down the Pacific Coast Highway, it doesn't get much better!
Golfing is popular in the area! A few great spots are Westlake Golf Course, and Tierra Rejada Golf Club. These are nearby the hotels and the venue. (We know nothing about golfing - so give it a browse and choose your fav!)
If you're staying a few extra days - we would recommend heading about 1.5 hours north to Santa Barbara. This is known as the American Riviera, and basically everything you want from Los Angeles without the hustle and bustle. We LOVE and frequent this as our staycation spot, they have great hotels, restaurants, sites, and of course - there is WINE. There are tasting rooms in the downtown area and you can venture into San Ynez for vineyards and all the goodies!
A great family fun activity! Underwood Family Farms is at the start of the agricultural parts of Southern California. Mrs. Hungerford takes her first graders here every year for harvesting and a visit to the petting zoo. October will be especially festive! We highly recommend a visit.
