Despite only meeting two years ago, Helen and David have been circling each other for years. Helen's godparents are longtime friends of the Baker family, and Helen's brother Eric has known David for nearly a decade. The boys were high school classmates, and hung out often throughout school and into college. Helen was even at their graduation ceremony, though social distancing precautions in the height of covid delayed their fateful meeting by a few more years. But one day in the fall of 2023, David was back for Thanksgiving break and went out to the movies with Eric. Eric decided to bring Helen along with him, and the couple were introduced that night. Their chemistry was apparent from the get-go, and they got to know each other over dinner after the movie. Unfortunately David had to return to college soon after and finish off the first semester of his final year. But the seeds were sown and the stage was set for a relationship to blossom. Helen was the first to make a move: upon returning from her solo trip to Scotland the following spring, she was filled with a newfound confidence and asked David out for coffee when he came back for Easter break. On April sixth, 2024, Helen and David went out for coffee. They met up at 10 AM and did not leave the cafe until 4. They later joked that they should’ve gone and gotten lunch together at some point, but the conversation was too good to break up with a change of locale. David even missed his appointment to pick up his suit from the dry cleaners, and had to go without for the remainder of the semester. They called each other frequently while he was in New York, and after he returned in May they were inseparable. A year later, on May thirty-first of 2025, David proposed on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Among other things, he loves her joyful sense of humor and unique outlook on life. She loves his intelligence and problem solving ability. They both look forward to what the future holds.
