Oct/2023: Met at church as youth leaders, acknowledged each other's existence for the first time, Benny misheard that I was into another guy and teased me relentlessly for it. Oct/2023-Jan/2024: The miscommunication was addressed, I made it very clear I was single and not interested in the other guy, our friendship grew. Feb/2024: Sparks started flying at a leadership conference we both attended, endless flirting (ask anyone who came with us), our youth pastor and mentor encouraged us to get coffee together. March 1, 2024: We get "coffee" (chai and milk lol). It goes AMAZING! Great conversations, it was obvious we were clicking. Benny hints that he wants to see me again hehe. March 11, 2024: Benny takes me to a Blazer game, we talk and laugh the whole time, UNTIL the drive home. Silent. Benny barely says a word. I think he hates me. PLOT TWIST! He confesses his feelings for me in my driveway. March - April 4, 2024: We spend as much time as we can together before I leave the country for school. Not wanting to start a relationship in long distance, we agree to wait for each other. April-June: We did 3 months of long distance. In that time we became best friends. We talked every day, FaceTimed, sent voice notes, and was intentional to build a friendship even being miles apart. July 1, 2024: I return from Mexico, Benny meets me at the airport, we spend one day (his birthday) together before… July 3, 2024: Plot twist again, Benny leaves the country for a short term mission trip. We are still not “officially” dating, will we ever get together? July 16, 2024: After 100 days of long distance Benny officially asked me to be his girlfriend! One of the best days of my life! July/2024- June/2025: We dated for 11 months of bliss and fell more in love every day. June 19, 2025: Benny proposed at Trillium lake! It was the perfect day and the easiest “yes.”
