Check the website for updates on rail delays and such before you go. Alternatively, you can also drive to Pentagon City Mall to park and pick up the metro yellow or blue line trains to downtown.
$15 parking per vehicle, and it's in Chantilly, not DC. Free admission otherwise to see the collection of aircraft and spacecraft. Definitely worth the drive if you've not seen it before, and worth hitting before they potentially remove the space shuttle.
