It started in August of 2017, when Kaitlyn was hired at the company where Mathis had been for the previous two years. They didn't think anything of each other for a while, definitely not love at first sight. But as their roles required them to collaborate on different projects they both began to think of each other differently. And then there was a sudden acceleration of their relationship when some of the team headed to Mr. Furley’s on a Friday night in November. Mr. Furley’s is a favorite bar of many at the company. It's close by the office and the brews are cheap (well, cheap for LA). That night, when everyone else had left and it was just Mathis and Kaitlyn sitting in the crowded bar, a connection was SPARKED. By Kaitlyn’s Christmas party (which was later revealed to be planned and schemed to get to Mathis), they were seeing each other. Fast forward two fun filled, adventurous years together to a new Christmas season but this time-- a proposal. Christmas, being a special time for their relationship, was a natural choice for Mathis to ask Kaitlyn for her hand in marriage. On an unassuming night, when Mathis had come back from a trip and told Kaitlyn he had got her a gift from the “trip” he asked Kaitlyn to spend the rest of their lives together.
