Where to stay
We recommend staying in Oaxaca Centro, near the Templo de Santo Domingo de Guzman. This area is at the heart of the city, with everything within walking distance—restaurants, markets, and cultural sites. February and March are busy tourist months in Oaxaca so we recommend booking accommodation in advance! You can get to Oaxaca, Mexico, by flying into Oaxaca’s Xoxocotlán International Airport (IATA: OAX) from major Mexican cities like Mexico City, Cancún, or Guadalajara. If passing through Mexico City go through the Benito Juarez airport (MEX) and not the Felipe Angeles (NLU) one, NLU is very far away from the city. There are also direct flights from the US from airports like Dallas Ft. Worth and Los Angeles. There’s no Uber in Oaxaca. Official airport taxis and the yellow taxis are safe and relatively inexpensive. Remember to bring cash (i.e. Mexican pesos) for taxis. Our ceremony will take place in Parroquia Carmen Alto, a three minute walk from Santo Domingo while the reception will take place at Loma Noble venue, which is a 30-min drive away.
