Some love stories begin quietly. Ours began with God’s perfect timing. At the American Association of Geographers (AAG) Conference in Honolulu, Hawaii. Mathew first noticed Theresa while she was presenting her research. In that brief moment, something about her caught his attention. While speaking with a mutual friend - Ugochukwu, he asked if the friend knew her and learned that they were acquainted. Neither of them knew then that God was already beginning to write a beautiful story. Months later, Mathew reached out and established communication with Theresa. What seemed like a simple message turned out to be the beginning of something special. From their very first conversation, the connection felt genuine and easy. Over time, their friendship grew into something deeper and strengthened through prayers. Looking back now, we can clearly see God’s hand in every step of our journey, in the waiting, in the timing, and in the love that gradually grew between us. What began with a simple moment in Hawaii has become a love story we are deeply grateful for. Today, we thank God for bringing us together at the right place and the right time, and we look forward to building a life together that honors God in all that we do.
