FAQs

Question

What should I bring?

Answer

Bring your loving hearts and celebratory spirits, and perhaps a story or well wishes to share...bring a light jacket or wrap for the chilly evenings up here.

Question

Where to park for the party?

Answer

Carpooling is always a virtue in this town. We'll have someone out front to help direct you with parking. There's space in front of our home (and our next door neighbor has offered their driveway), enough room for the first dozen or so cars. From there, there's the following options: - Uber the whole way, or drive and park in "Downtown Topanga" at the shopping center and take an Uber the last 3 miles to our home. - Park up at the Red Rock state park (past our home), we've arranged permitted parking here, so you'll need to just put a sign on your dash. ++If you park on the dirt road, make sure you are in no way blocking the road, it needs to be passible by a large firetruck. Also did we mention carpooling and Uber? :)

Question

Where is the wedding ceremony and where do we park?

Answer

We are getting married under an ancient oak tree in Topanga around 15 minutes drive from our place. We will send out instructions for the parking and a map to the tree. There will be an easy 20 minute walk to the tree from your car. Please wear flat comfortable shoes, sun protection (hat, sunglasses,..), water bottle, and those nature lovin spirits. PS there is a closer drop off point for the elders, pregnant mommas, and others that need, which requires just a 5 min walk.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We would love to hear if you are attending by April 20th.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We are still finalizing the details on the timing and we will be in touch. It's looking like 2pm for arrival at parking. If you're immediate family, please arrive at 1:30pm for photos.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

You know us, we prefer presence and experiences over presents, and are just grateful you're coming to share this day with us. If you wish to support our honeymoon or photo memories, you can go to the 'Registry' tab on this website and donate whatever you wish. Thankyou.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Sure, just message Colleen as soon as possible so we can arrange with catering. The food will be fresh, organic, seasonal, and gluten-free, with an option for chicken or plant-based.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Think beach wedding but in the woods, ie elegant yet practical flat footwear, ie NO HEELS or tight uncomfortable dresses. It will be about a 20min nature walk to and from the ceremony beneath the tree, sitting on cushions and chairs, and then reception at our canyon home, so DRESS COMFORTABLE for a beautiful spring day! For example, a long dress and nice sandals, for the ladies. For family, the color scheme is: the soft blue of all the wild sage and eucalyptus, and soft tan/peach, so think soft natural tones.
