The Proposal

The days leading up to the proposal, we planned a trip to Zion National Park. We enjoyed Zion in the summer and wanted to experience the park with snow covering the bright red and pink peaks. Emily recommended a sunrise hike to Observation Point, the highest point of the canyon, but never thought that this would set the stage for the perfect proposal.
The night before the hike, we camped in our Jeep at the trailhead. It was a crisp 20 degrees and our space heater decided not to work! Emily had a cozy sleep in her sleeping bag, but Andrew did not. He woke up multiple times in the night, but was determined to make it to sunrise. With headlamps and puffy jackets on, we made our way on the trail. As the sun began to rise, the rock walls became exposed and we were overlooking our favorite canyon with excitement. Andrew decided to "record a time lapse of the sunrise", we took our usual smiling photo together, and on the next photo, Andrew got down on one knee and popped the question.
