I was the new girl in Santa Clarita, starting fresh halfway through 9th grade. On my very first day in Mr. Phillip’s biology class, Mateo noticed me right away — he still remembers that I was wearing red lipstick. From then on, we always seemed to find ourselves in the same circle of friends, laughing and spending time together. Everyone around us insisted we were meant to be more than friends, but I was determined to keep it that way… at least for a while. It wasn’t until the summer before junior year that everything changed. What started as a sweet friendship slowly grew into something so much deeper. Now, 11 years later — after seasons of growing up together, supporting each other through every career move, and building a beautiful family with our little Vincent — we can’t wait to finally celebrate the next chapter: our wedding day.
