What is the Wedding Entourage? The wedding entourage in a Filipino wedding is much more expansive than a typical Western bridal party. It includes not only the Maid of Honor, Best Man, Bridesmaids, and Groomsmen, but also: Principal Sponsors (Ninongs & Ninangs): Honored couples who act as mentors to the bride and groom. They participate in the ceremony and offer wisdom and blessings. Secondary Sponsors: Assist with placing the veil, cord, and coins during the ceremony. Candle Lighters: Symbolize the light of Christ in the couple’s life. Junior Bridesmaids/Groomsmen & Flower Girls: Young members of the family who bring joy and tradition to the celebration. Q: Is there a dress code for the entourage? Yes — our designated wedding party will wear coordinated formal attire. Female entourage members are asked to wear a floor-length dark navy blue dress. Male entourage members may wear either a suit or a traditional Filipino Barong Tagalog in navy or dark tones.
