Friday, October 13th was a beautiful day for a wedding in North Lake Tahoe, NV. Brian and Kristen decided to get married in Lake Tahoe, on the Nevada side, because they originally met in Reno, NV. It started on Wednesday evening, the Massaro-Barnett and Castineiras families landed in Reno, NV. We spent the night at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino and ate dinner where Brian and I had our first date, The Charlie Palmer Steakhouse. The next morning, Brian and I woke up, got our marriage license, and headed off to Lake Tahoe! We stopped in the Capitol of Nevada, Carson City, for some sight-seeing and lunch at a local brewery. The rehearsal and rehearsal dinner was that same day. Dinner was at a quaint restaurant called The Soule Domain. Our families shared lots of laughs while they all got to know one another. The next day, Friday, was the BIG day. We were all staying at the Hyatt Resort in Incline Village. The boys spent most of the morning exploring the beautiful grounds while the girls were pampered, getting their glam on for the ceremony and pictures. Sam, our photographer arrived to take a few pictures and do a "first look" of the father of the bride and bride. The wedding ceremony was at St. Francis of Assisi in Incline Village--it is an absolutely stunning Church, with views through the windows of evergreens and set further back, Lake Tahoe. We took pictures on the church grounds because Lake Tahoe was experiencing PEAK FOLIAGE at the time, and who could have an October Wedding without a few foliage shots?! Afterwards, we trekked back to a private Lake Tahoe beach at the resort and got some beautiful family and couple photos. By the late afternoon, the weather turned overcast and windy, which made for GORGEOUS wedding photos. Our family ended the evening with dinner at Big Water Grille, where we again encountered stunning views of Lake Tahoe and the foliage! I also want to shout out my childhood best friend, Kara Caouette. She called the restaurant ahead of time to order my first drink as a married woman (a cosmo!) and a bottle of wine for our table. The day after the wedding the festivities continued. We did some sightseeing on the California side of North Lake Tahoe / Kings Beach area. During the evening, Brian and I surprised our family at the rehearsal dinner with tickets for a sunset dinner cruise through Emerald Bay in Lake Tahoe (the southern side of Lake Tahoe). It was the perfect way to end the perfect weekend! Although we missed having ALL of you, our friends and family there--it was important to Brian and I that we had a more intimate ceremony. 2023 was an INCREDIBLE year for us, and we're so glad we still got to celebrate with many of you over the summer. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who attended our pre-wedding festivities, and even those who called / texted us throughout the year to make sure we felt celebrated and loved. It meant so much to us! Love, Mr. & Mrs. Barnett
