Ian and Angela had both created profiles on the dating app, “Bumble.” Ian swiped on Angela, making him appear in Angela’s beehive. After reading Ian’s profile, Angela thought he was cute and they had a lot in common, but she was unsure if she was ready to be involved with someone who had a child. After two weeks of continuing to go back and look at his profile over and over again, Angela finally decided she wanted to meet Ian. Angela messaged Ian and they started talking about their love of tacos, sushi, and various shows they were watching. After almost 2 weeks of messaging, Ian asked Angela on a date. The two met at Kyomi in Bellefontaine for sushi. From there, they proceeded to see each other for the next month, including a movie night at Ian’s. He swore his parents knew Angela was coming over, but they did not, and met a random girl for the first time in their living room. After almost a month, Ian took Angela to the Columbus Zoo Lights and asked her to be exclusive. From then on, the two were as inseparable as they could be with a two-hour commute between their homes. Following was two years of long phone calls and FaceTimes, texting, watching their shows together over the phone, and of course, taking turns driving to each other every weekend. Then in December 2024, Ian took Angela to Clifton Mill for Christmas lights. Ian popped the question under a Christmas light adorned covered bridge, and Angela didn’t hesitate to say yes. Ian and Angela cannot wait to start this next chapter of their lives together with Ian’s daughter, Emmy, who has been a core part of their relationship. Opposites truly attract with these two, and they are a perfect balance. They are best friends, and each other’s penguin. They can’t imagine life without one another.
