The Strip District is a great area to experience the city life of Pittsburgh. An old train station has been converted into a bunch of wonderful restaurants and shops. Some of our favorites are Puttshack Indoor Putt-Putt, and Kaya Caribbean Restaurant.
Nestled right outside of Pittsburgh and only about 5 minutes from our wedding venue, this local shop boasts a great selection of homemade ice cream and many coffee related items. If you are in need of a pick-me-up or are craving an afternoon treat, this is an excellent place to visit! (Abby highly recommends the Affogato - ice cream topped with espresso)
Come walk around the small township of Sewickley where we live. There is a wonderfully quaint main street with great restaurants and a small town feel. One of our favorite breakfast and lunch spots is Mediterra (430 Beaver St, Sewickley, PA 15143). And if you need to cool down with some local icecream check out The Sewickley Confectionery for some unique and delightful icecream.
North Park has been a go to spot for us during our time in Pittsburgh. The park sits just north of the city and has wonderful walking trails, pickleball courts, and a scenic lake. Additionally, there is a boathouse restaurant on the premesis that has indoor and outdoor seating. There is also a large open air brewery/coffeehouse right down the street at the Pro Bike Run store (9999 Kummer Rd, Allison Park, PA 15101).
