Sam and Mason met in the winter of 2019 while living in Telluride, Colorado, after being set up by mutual friends. On their first Valentine’s Day, over a stack of blueberry pancakes, Sam told Mason she’d be moving to Australia that summer for graduate school. It was a bit of a shock but they decided to enjoy their time together and figure the rest out later. What started as a winter in the mountains quickly turned into a summer romance, and by July, neither wanted to say goodbye. After a tearful farewell in the TSA line, they decided to give long distance a try. Over the next few years, they navigated life across two countries, multiple states, growing together through every adventure. Six years later, on Sam’s family dock, Mason asked Sam if she’d spend the rest of her life with him.
